Hart Boys Tennis Makes a “Racquet”

The boys’ varsity tennis team moved into their season with passion and vigor, being led this semester under a different coach for the first time. They hope to continue this streak in their final five matches this season.

The team faces new challenges as they learn to work with a new coach, Coach Ramirez. As a team, they’ve been trialing new drills and partnering different people together.

Though some innovations are better than others, we are mixing things up and experimenting a lot playing for the new coach,” said senior varsity player Josh Labra. “It’s been fun and the new coach has been learning with us as much as we’ve been learning from him.”

“Our team’s biggest strength is the camaraderie between the players,” said Coach Ramirez, this being his first season coaching tennis. “The team has a great vibe and it makes it easier to play with one another.”

The team hopes to utilize their strengths all the way to CIF playoffs. “It is a tough challenge since there are some great teams in our conference such as West Ranch and Valencia. Nonetheless, the guys and I believe that this is possible if we keep working hard and improving,” Ramirez said.
