Grad night’s location should be decided on by the students

As the school year comes to an end, seniors are looking forward to all their last school events before graduation such as prom, the senior rally, the senior sunset and grad night. One day out of the year, towards the end of the last semester, Hart High School’s seniors take a trip to Universal Studios to have fun and make memories with their friends before a stressful finals week.

Every once in a while, someone will always say ‘I wish grad night was at Disneyland’ or some theme park that isn’t Universal Studios. Most people say the complete opposite and believe Disneyland is ‘overrated.’ However, I consider Universal Studios Theme Parks and City Walks to be a huge tourist attraction. When you think of Hollywood, you don’t only think of the wild film industry or the believe or not museums on almost every Hollywood Blvd corner, but also the Universal Studios’s theme park.

In my opinion, I believe that the students should take a vote at the beginning of the year to decide whether they’d like to go to Disneyland, Universal Studios, Knott’s Berry Farm or any other amusement park. Another alternative would be changing the grad night location every year.

I also believe that chaperones should educate themselves on what is allowed in the parks and what isn’t so that students are aware of what to bring and what they should leave at home. The theme parks should also update their rules to fight the basic standard of today’s present guidelines.

Overall, I think schools should think thoroughly and consider how some students are tired of going to the same theme parks from years before. Some people go to these nearby theme parks regularly and some get boring a few hours into the night.
