Hart football coach Mike Harrington is inducted into the hall of fame

Legendary Hart Football coach Mike Harrington will be inducted into the High School Football Hall of Fame in the Spring of 2023. The induction ceremony will take place at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Coach Harrington is being inducted for his decades of high level coaching at the high school level.

Harrington started his career as an assistant coach at Hart in 1980. His coaching career took off 1988 while he was coaching at Bellflower High School. But, Harrington quickly returned to Hart and stayed at Hart until the end of his career. Harrington ended his coaching career with 304 wins, 100 losses and one tie under his belt.

Harrington’s career can not be spoken about without mentioning his 65-game winning streak, which lasted for 13 years. Harrington also played a vital role in Hart’s nine CIF  Championships.

“Coach Harrington didn’t just coach Hart Football, he also impacted Hart High School as a whole. Harrington instilled a feeling of pride that you might get when you’re wearing that red, black and white or the pride you might get when you say ‘Go Hart!’” said Hart student Armando Corado Escalante.
