H4H focuses on serving the homeless population

Hart for the Homeless or H4H is a new community service club this year. The main goal of H4H is to educate the student body about homelessness in the Santa Clarita Valley and partner with homeless shelter Bridge to Home. November 13 and December 4, Hart for the Homeless had their donation drives at Hart. They collected items such as masks, hand sanitizer, gloves, blankets and toiletries. Students who participated in the donation drive earned hours for the National Honor Society, California Scholastic Federation and Key Club.

When Bella first suggested in one of our classes that she wanted to start a club to help the homeless I was immediately on board. I’m someone who is super into doing things for the community around us,” said Robert Picarella.

H4H is run by five officers: Bella Sandoval, Ava Paredes, Juliette Jamjian, Robert Picarella and Cailyn Ladanyi. The advisor for H4H is Mrs. Colton, and they meet the first Thursday of every month at 12:45. If you are interested in Hart for the Homeless, join their Google Classroom; the code is zgianrs. They also have an Instagram account, @hartforthehomeless.

“I can’t wait to see where Hart for the Homeless goes,” Picarella said.
