Lisa Marie Presley’s death shocks the music world

Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of singer and actor Elvis Presley and actress Priscilla Presley, died January 12, 2023 from cardiac arrest. The singer-songwriter was hospitalized earlier in the day of January 12 and died later that day at age 54.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla Presley, her mother, said Thursday evening.

Presley attended the Golden Globes three days prior to her passing on January 10 where she spoke with Austin Butler, an actor who played her father, Elvis Presley, in the 2022 movie “Elvis” and was rewarded with a Golden Globe for his performance.

“I had to take, like, five days to process it because it was so incredible and so spot on and just so authentic” said Presley to Butler regarding his performance in the movie.

Later, she was hospitalized and placed into LA hospital after cardiac arrest.

The burial took place on January 22, 2023 at her father’s Graceland estate during a public memorial service where people held photos of Lisa Marie.

According to NBC News, “Some mourners held flowers as they waited for the service to begin under the tall trees on the lawn of Graceland, the home in Memphis where Lisa Marie lived as a child with her father.”

“She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.” Said Priscilla Presley in an interview with People magazine.
