Hart Regiment’s recent achievement creates a new record

Tuesday, January 24, 2023 the Hart Regiment marching band and color guard was recognized by the Santa Clarita City Council and Santa Clarita’s mayor, Jason Gibbs, for its achievements. The Hart Regiment was recognized for its excellence and for winning 15 marching band tournaments. They are the only marching band and color guard to have achieved this honor. The ceremony was conducted at the council chambers at City Hall at 6:00 p.m. During the ceremony, the council played a slideshow featuring some of the Regiment’s most recent work and a speech was given honoring the Regiment.

The Regiment’s most recent achievement centered on how the Regiment was undefeated this year, winning every marching competition they attended with their show Embellished. The show focused on bells in hotels and featured a variety of songs including I Can Hear the Bells from the musical Hairspray, Carol of the Bells and Hotel California by the Gypsy Kings. The Regiment’s success culminated at the 2022 Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association Championships where they won first place in their 4A division. It was their 15 time winning first place at championships.

Currently the Regiment is focusing on their spring ensembles: Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Winter Guard and Drumline. These groups allow Regiment members to focus on improving their crafts and on perfecting challenging music. That way the Regiment can continue their reputation of excellence.
