The Weeknd’s new album, Dawn FM, was released January 7 as his fifth album. Of course, it does not disappoint. It’s almost a guaranteed contender to be the album of the year.

No album The Weeknd comes out with ever sounds the same. This is so refreshing, especially this album, putting such an interesting twist on old 80’s music. There is so much diversity between the songs, bringing out a slow pace, along with an 80’s type of upbeat music.

The idea of being in purgatory is such a fascinating one, and Jim Carrey as a host fits perfectly. The album’s vibes, while imagining being in purgatory, come together so well. All of the songs come out sleek, and seamlessly transition together. While each song individually is so good, listening to them sequentially brings out how well they compliment each other.
