Should Disney continue to make Cinderella movies?

Endless. That’s the word I would use to describe the amount of Cinderella movies there are. There are 12 Disney princesses, Snow White, Mulan, Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Tiana, Rapunzel, Merida, Moana and the favorite of all, Cinderella. There are so many different renditions of Cinderella that you’d think they’d make more versions of other princesses, but for some reason everyone chooses to do more Cinderella movies. There’s the original Cinderella starring Lesley Ann Warren, but there’s also the classic version starring Lily James. There’s also a version older by the name of Ella Enchanted, starring Anne Hathaway, but there’s also the most recent version starring Camila Cabello that combines the beautiful ball gown era with modern ideology. Of course, if someone isn’t into the whole Victorian era ball gown type story, there’s Another Cinderella Story, starring Selena Gomez, A Cinderella Story starring Hilary Duff, A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish starring Laura Marano or even Ever After: A Cinderella Story starring Drew Barrymore. There are many more that I haven’t named, but my point should’ve come through by now; there are too many Cinderella movies.

People love the rags to riches stories, but at some point they’re going to have to stop making them. Disney could probably make a lot more money if they did more renditions of some of the other princesses. I do have to admit, they have made some more Snow White movies and there was the kids series of Rapunzel episodes, but I’d still like to see some other princesses thrown in the mix. And even though they made another Mulan, it was a live action version, not another rendition. I’d like to see a World War II Mulan, or maybe a present day Rapunzel trapped in a tower in Italy, or possibly another modern day idea, Merida taking a vacation with her friends playing archery in England while being followed by many suitors.

Honestly, I wouldn’t mind more Disney princesses, but that’s not the issue I’m addressing. All these companies making more Cinderella movies could spend their time better by either making more princesses or making modern versions of the princesses we already have.
