Lana Del Rey Album Review

Blue Banisters, the latest album by Lana Del Rey is a beautiful mess of a heartbreak record. Unlike her albums of the past, Blue Banisters takes on a more mature sound and lyrics with the sole purpose of telling her story. Despite its dependence on previously unreleased material, the album has a sense of cohesiveness with some tracks dating back to 2014.

Arguably one of the best songs to come out of her new album is a piano ballad titled “Black Bathing Suit” which details Del Rey’s struggles of feeling lonely during quarantine and addresses comments made about her weight, singing how all that still fits is her bathing suit.

One of my personal favorites is “Thunder”, which is reminiscent of Del Rey’s earlier works and brings back the old Hollywood splendor that have been absent in her previous albums.
