Hart boys soccer has gone into the 2024 season with a scoring attitude. Varsity launched their way to the top ranking first in Foothill League, currently holding a 10-1 record, with junior varsity having an undefeated season and frosh following proximate records.
February 7, they took a 1-0 win against Carter High School in their first round of CIF. With the current ranking of the Hart Varsity boys team, they’re set to prepare to become potential state champions and CIF DII champions.
“I’m excited for CIF. I am excited to see how far we can go.[We were so successful] because Coach Bernal is on top of it. He is always there, always ready, and he has something for us to do everyday. He makes it easy for us to work hard,” Hart varsity player Sebastian Carrasco said.
“Strategies we use to maintain performance are to take advantage of the Sports Med equipment, to prevent injuries, and practice everyday. The Greatest strength in the team is physicality, and our technical ability with the ball. We communicate well when passing the ball,” said varsity left back, and center back Gavin Krusey.
“Playoffs first round will be tough, our coaches motivate us everyday to come to practice everyday on and off campus, it’s definitely one of our greatest strengths,” said one of Harts varsity goalkeepers.
It’s no wonder the varsity team is ranked first in the league, with their great communication skills among the team and support from their coaches.
