January 28, residents of Santa Clarita had the opportunity to immerse in the array of goods and flavors at the SCV Indoor Market. Hosted by What’s Up SCV, this two day event on January 27 and 28 transformed the old Spirit Halloween, off of Carl Boyer Dr, into a vibrant and creative atmosphere for the community to indulge in.
One of the highlights of the market was the mix of vendors, each offering something unique to delight visitors. From custom woodwork by HTP Woodworks, to the Colombian fast food of Mr. Bacano, there was something for every taste bud. Vendor, Raquella Crafts, showcased a range of horror inspired crochet plushies, hats and flowers.
For those craving a mix of sweet and spicy, Gummies with a Little Spice did not disappoint, offering gummy candies infused with chamoy sauce. Meanwhile, Vera’s Cheesecakes tempted shoppers with their array of cheesecakes, cakes and other sweet treats. Stroller Shades provided a practical solution for parents, offering UV protecting, adjustable and removable shades for strollers, car seats and wagons.
Faithful shoppers were delighted to explore the offerings of Liberia Catholica Belen. Which showcased Catholic inspired jewelry including rosaries, crosses and other religious artifacts. Of course, no market would be complete without a savory food truck, and Birrieria La Mera Mera delivered authentic Mexican cuisine, featuring birria tacos, quesadillas, tortas and more.
“The birria tacos from Birrieria La Mera Mera were absolutely mouthwatering,” said frequent visitor of the market Erica Torres. “And those peach ring gummies with the chamoy sauce from Gummies with a Little Spice, they hit the spot!” she exclaimed.
Overall, the SCV Indoor Market proved to be a success, showcasing the talent, diversity and entrepreneurial spirit of the Valley. Until the next gathering, residents eagerly anticipate the opportunity to once again experience the creativity of this beloved local event.
