Downs is down for anything

Griffin Downs is a Sophomore at Hart High School. He is also one of the leading officers of Film Club at Hart. He plays for Hart’s Volleyball Team, and recently splurged on competitive swimming. Growing up, Downs always found contentment in the film industry, and throughout his childhood he found himself creating short films with friends as a hobby. It wasn’t until in recent years that he started being more involved with the process itself.

“I’ve always loved film, but the first time I considered doing it was during a little challenge with my girlfriend, and out of spite I went way too hard to win against her and ended up really getting into the process of filmmaking. And from there I just wanted to do more, ” said Downs.

Downs also loves the game of Volleyball. But it wasn’t until around the 8th grade that he started playing it competitively because of his friends. Since then he’s devoted a majority of his time sharpening his skills. Though volleyball isn’t his primary career choice, he finds satisfaction in perfecting the sport.

Downs additionally is pursuing competitive swimming  which to his own surprise he finds exciting and fun. His swimming ability stems from early childhood, but like volleyball, it was until recently that he took it into consideration. It all began on an HOA swimming team where he found himself dominating every race. He capitalized on this ability and began swimming. Since then he’s had nothing bad to say about his experience swimming competitively.

“I’ve been swimming ever since I was little. In my neighborhood we had an HOA swim team. I won all races and basically everyone was trying to convince me to join Hart Swim, so I caved,” said Downs.

Downs looks forward to improving in many of his professions.
