Don Lemon, a long-time host for CNN, was fired following a chaotic run as host on a CNN morning show. While hosting the show, Lemon discussed political figures in a bad light and specifically called out those offering criticism and referencing controversial topics. 

Previously, Lemon hosted the prime time “Don Lemon Tonight” show but then moved to “CNN This Morning” when the network first began the show in November of 2022. This past anchoring of Lemon was not the first of his controversial instances. 

Lemon said he learned of his firing from his agent, not even from management or CNN officials. 

A quote from the Associated Press claims Lemon said, “At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network.” 

On the social platform, Twitter, Lemon went on to recount his point of view from how his termination took place, telling viewers that his talent agent had abruptly informed him “that I have been terminated by CNN.”

Lemon was considered to be one of CNN’s most recognizable stars, holding a high reputation as a strong political commentator during his eight years as a prime-time anchor. He initially began to lose favor after remarks made in February about women and aging.
