Work Hard, Putt Harder!

The 2023 Girls’ Golf season has been an incredibly successful and memorable one for sure. With only starting with seven returning players at first, they were able to gain five more after tryouts, completing their perfect team for the season.

Coach Lindberg exclaimed that they had four specific goals this season for the team; having fun, making new friends, learning the game, and improving their skills. And it is definitely clear that they were able to accomplish all of these targets, by working hard in all ways possible. The varsity and junior varsity teams competed in many matches over the season at The Oaks Club, Sand Canyon C.C., Vista, and Chica. Each player continuously improved during the season and nine of the twelve girls on the team had an opportunity to play in at least one varsity league match. This is a huge attainment for the team, as they were all able to grow and learn in their courses of action.

Recently an awards banquet was held to recognize the team mates efforts they put into this season. For varsity Season MVP, Abby Busenitz received this honor, while junior varsity MVP was given to Alyssa Scavo. Also personally voted by the team was Bella Scavo for Most Kind, and Abby Busenitz and Larkin Metts for Most Helpful. Also their third year in a row strong player Layla Garabet, won the award for varsity League MVP, being a spot well deserved. These awards clearly prove the teams loving appreciation and support they have for each other.
