Ultimate ranking of girl scout cookies

If you are hearing a sudden knock at your door, it could be one of three things; someone’s trying to break into your house, someone is trying to scam you or perhaps it’s that time of the year again. Girl Scout Cookies have been a part of our lives for more than a century now. And with that comes so many new ways to enjoy our cookies. Which type of Girl Scout Cookie is the best? Here are a few candidates.

When people think about Girl Scout Cookies, one of the first flavors that comes to mind is the highly praised Thin Mints. Thin Mints are one of the original Girl Scout flavors (next to shortbread cookies, and an assortment of sandwich-like cookies) making them an even more notable cookie amongst all the others — but are they good? This cookie in particular is highly overrated, as there are already plenty of “chocolate and peppermint” sweets being thrown around.

Do you like chocolate? Better yet, do you like peanut butter? If you answered “yes” (you should’ve), why not invest in a box of Peanut Butter Patties? These cookies are often thought highly of for their perfect balance of chocolate and peanut butter, while being topped by chocolate-coated crust. These are probably one of the most underrated cookies amongst the others; most companies who attempt the “chocolate and peanut butter” approach fail.

Imagine a brownie-like cookie topped with salted caramel. Girl Scouts have recently released a new cookie – and it’s already being crowned as the best cookie yet, which is understandable. Who wouldn’t want to eat these little caramel brownie hybrids? As a matter of fact, due to extreme demand for these new delectables, there is an on-going shortage for Adventurefuls.

So far, the nominees haven’t been super dated in terms of release date. So let’s go back to where it all began — the sugar cookie. During the late 1910s and early 1920s, Girl Scouts went from door-to-door offering cookies to the public, set at a fair price of 25-30 cents per dozen. What a steal. Sugar cookies are a simple, but lovable snack, and they will forever be preferred by many over the modern selection of cookies. Sugar cookies, while being simplistic, are still a memorable, and lovable substitute for other flavors. Is it up there with the best? Yes. Simplicity is something that some people need in their lives, even if it is in a cookie. The sugar cookie is, without a doubt, a top three.

After giving it extensive thought, I can conclude that these are the top three Girl Scout Cookies as of now; 1. Adventurefuls  2. Peanut Butter Patties  3. Sugar Cookies.
