LOUISVILLE, KY — Indiana State Police arrested a Nevada man after a traffic stop on Interstate 65 turned into a high-speed chase in Clark County. Troopers say the driver kept going after a sergeant tried to pull him over for speeding.

The pursuit ended after another trooper used a PIT maneuver in a construction zone, bringing the car to a stop.

Troopers say the car was clocked at 80 mph before the driver sped up

According to ISP, the incident started just after 2 p.m. Friday near the 3.8 mile marker on I-65 northbound. A sergeant attempted to stop the vehicle after it was seen traveling 80 miles per hour.

Police said the driver did not pull over and instead continued northbound at an even higher speed.

Investigators identified the driver as 43-year-old Joshua Ashley of Nevada. Troopers said the car was traveling between 90 and 95 miles per hour during the pursuit.

When the vehicle entered a construction zone, a trooper used a PIT maneuver to end the chase safely, according to police.

Ashley faces multiple charges after the chase ended

Ashley was arrested at the scene and charged with resisting law enforcement with a vehicle and reckless driving. He was also cited for speeding.

Police said he remained in custody at the Clark County Jail after the arrest.
