As Hart High School starts its second semester following winter break, the Hart Regiment begins preparation for yet another eventful season. In the month of January, members of the Regiment have begun taking the necessary steps to ensure a successful semester.

With the majority of these events starting up around late February and early March, the Regiment takes a head start in preparing for the semester. The District Honor Band auditions are being held January 19-20, located at Valencia High School. Participants are required to be present at certain times based on the alphabetical order of their last names. Students district wide plan to audition and show up at their respective times, students of mainly Hart and Valencia as well. 

Through the duration of the season, the Wind Ensemble continues to host rehearsals weekly on  Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. since returning from winter break.

Later in March, the Honor Band will be performing its first concert of the semester. This will be the Spring Concert, which will be held Saturday, March 2. Prior to this event, the Honor Band will have a rehearsal Friday, March 1. Band members have began preparing early and are practicing the pieces that are to be performed during the concert. 

“For this semester, I feel that the Regiment has some really good musical pieces that we will be performing at our Spring Concert, I’ve played a couple of them.” said Rey Noori, a member of the Concert Band and the Quarter Master of Leadership  “We are going to keep getting better at playing them up until our concert, I’m excited to see what our Spring Concert has in store for us because I really believe we sound good.” 

Just a few days following the concert, auditions to join the Honor Jazz ensemble will be held Tuesday, March 5. 

In addition to band activities, on February 10 Colorguard has its preview show at Chino Hills, later followed by the WGI Regional from February 23-25, located at the Del Norte High School gym in San Diego. Entry tickets are to be purchased for $20.00 on Saturday February 24, $24.00 on Sunday February 25, and $32.00 for both days. Furthermore, the Colorguard WGASC will be happening on March ninth at Arcadia High School.
