“My favorite book is Possession by A.S. Byatt, published in 1990. It has everything I love in one place: historical fiction, literary fiction, mystery, different kinds of writing, and an awkward love story. It’s a pretty simple plot: two young scholars are researching the lives of two lesser-known Victorian poets. There’s a connection, but it takes lots of reading and travel for the scholars to find it and make sense of it all. I don’t often re-read books (there are just too many!), but this is one I will re-read…and I like it better every time!”
