Hart senior Gavin Leising has committed to Princeton University for volleyball. He is captain of the varsity boys team, which he’s been a part of since freshman year. The 6’9 athlete can often be seen playing the position of middle blocker.

Princeton ranks nationally as one of the best schools in the country for both academics and athletics. Their boys volleyball team typically places first or second in the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA), and they have even made it to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) finals before.

“I’m excited to live on the east coast and to connect with the alumni networking programs,” said Leising.

Leising is looking forward to joining the team and becoming a Tiger. With their renowned reputation as a NCAA Division 1 school and member of the Ivy League, it was an opportunity Leising couldn’t miss out on. In the fall, Leising plans on majoring in Operations Research and Financial Engineering.

“It’s the number one school in the nation and has the balance between academics and athletics that I need,” Leising said.

Leising has his sights set on the future. His goals for his upcoming freshman year include making the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American team, starting his first year and earning EIVA newcomer of the year.

His legacy will remain at Hart while his future will present itself at Princeton.
