Football fans prepare for college game day

College football has been completely unpredictable, and with power schools being upset, fans do not know what to expect next, starting off with University of Purdue upsetting the number two ranked team The Ohio State University.

It was a special night in West Lafayette, Indiana, as the Boilermakers pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the entire season with a 49-20 win over Number 2 Ohio State which sent a shockwave through the entire college football world

For USC, the Trojans jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead on Utah after JT Daniels hit Michael Pittman for a 34-yard touchdown. After that the Utes scored the next 34 points to put the game out of reach by the fourth quarter. Tyler Huntley had 341 yards and four touchdowns on the night, and Zack Moss posted 134 yards rushing for the Utah Utes in the 41-28 win.

Although Oregon was able to pull a nail biting win over the Washington Huskies 30-27, they were not able to pull off a win against another PAC-12 North team. It was a wild, wild game on the Palouse in the critical Pac-12 North battle between the Ducks and the Cougars. Washington State jumped out to a 27-0 halftime lead behind three touchdown passes from quarterback Gardner Minshew, but the Ducks came roaring back with 20 straight points to keep it close early in the fourth quarter. Minshew finished it with a 22-yard touchdown strike to Dezmon Patmon with 3:40 left to lead the Cougars to the win.

In the American West, The University of Central Florida Knights pushed their winning streak to 20 games Saturday night in a 37-10 win over East Carolina.

As the season continues, key games such as number two Georgia (6-0) and number 14 Florida (5-1) face off. Other important games include West Virginia and Texas, the number one team ranked Alabama and LSU, Penn State and Wisconsin, Cincinnati and Central Florida, for the pac-12 , Washington and Washington State both 5-1.

As the season continues, so will the excitement that makes college football the loved sport it is.
