Girls volleyball just finished off their 2018 season with an undefeated title. The varsity girls’ volleyball team went 10-0 in league. They have not lost one game in league and beat every team two times– once at home and once at the opposing high school.  Many of the girls’ favorite memory this season was when they won their final league game.

“Our whole bench rushed the court when we won and everyone was so excited,” said junior Ruby Duncan.

This was the first time that the Hart girls’ varsity volleyball team has gone undefeated since 1994. A big feat for the coaches and the many girls who contributed to such a feat, especially the seniors, it being their last year. They were very excited and leaping with joy when the final whistle was blown during their final game of the season.

In the game against Valencia, Hart varsity volleyball beat Valencia in their home gym for the first time in over 13 years. This was a huge accomplishment for the team, players and coaches alike.

“When we beat them in 3 our hearts were filled with joy and we even got our coach to cry out of happiness,”  Duncan y said.

“I will miss the seniors so much. They are my best friends and they have been there for me through everything. They are always there when I need them and they will be missed a ton,”  Duncan said.

The team is very close to one another on and off the court, to any observer it may just seem like they are just a close volleyball team, but to them, it is so much more than that. They are a huge family, not just a volleyball team, but a family.

“This season, our team has grown so much on and off the court. We connect well together and we care about each other so much. This season proved to be the team that anything is possible if you give 100% effort at all practices and games,” Duncan said.

All in all this season has been a very memorable one and will be remembered for years to come. The girls volleyball team has worked very hard and their hard work is paying off. Beating Valencia at home for the first time in 13 years and going undefeated for the first time in 24 years. But sadly the team is losing some key seniors: Noelle Bumel (Libero), Shelby Grubbs (Middle), Kylie Mattson (Setter), Zoe DiNardo (Outside) and Caihannah Catabona or CJ (Libero).
