Hart High cheer just began their 2018-2019 season. All three teams (frosh, JV, and varsity) showcased their stunts, tumbling, cheers and chants they worked all summer to learn and perfect. This summer, Hart cheer attended UCA cheer camp in Rancho Mirage.

“My last cheer camp at Rancho Mirage was honestly one for the books. It has been probably my favorite camp” said varsity cheerleader Gracie McKeon.

Hart Cheer stayed at Rancho Mirage for three days and three nights to learn all the material they will use throughout their season.

“We worked really hard and that outcome was just amazing. There is an award called the Top Banana where one team who stood out that day would win it. We won the last and final night. It was an amazing feeling to winning it because it showed us that we can do hard things and people notice kindness and respect” says McKeon.

At the first home varsity football game Hart cheer helped get the crowd into the game against Downey. Since this was the first football game, cheer stepped up this season with new banners, cheers, and stunts.

Many of the cheerleaders say that their favorite part of cheer is making banners.

“I have always looked forward to making banners and having the boys run through them. I love listening to them pump each other up and then run through them.” says McKeon.

Hart cheer will be performing at the homecoming game  INSERT DATE OF GAME. Cheer will perform a routine full of stunts, tumbling and dancing.

“This year we have prepared an excellent routine that is going to be so much fun to perform for all the fans and the alumni. The homecoming game is one of the biggest games so we have prepared awesome timeouts and banners for the game. This homecoming game is one you don’t want to miss!” says McKeon.

Hart cheer has worked hard all summer and they are already off to a great 2018-2019 season.
