Hart High Dance Team kicked off their year in early July with their summer camp, which began July 20.

“It was really nice getting to know all the new team members. Camp helped us to bond as a team and get excited for the upcoming year,” said second-year dance team member, sophomore Melissa Asmar.

The team consists of 25 members, including 4 seniors, 8 juniors, 6 sophomores and 7 freshmen. The Hart Dance Team is coached by Kat Leist.

“The new team is getting along so well and we are most excited for competition season!” said third-year dance team member, Lauren Nivichanov.

The dance team performed their first performance at the football game against Downey August 31.

“Dance Team and studio is different. At studio, they focus a lot about improving individually as a dancer. However, the dance team is all about being a team and improving as a unit,” said freshman Emma Seegmiller.

The Dance Team is also currently practicing for their upcoming nationals in Florida next spring.

“I’m looking forward to our first nationals the most. Our team has never traveled out of the state for a competition and I’m so excited to end my fourth year at Florida” said senior Layne LaTorre.
