As the Hart Dance season wraps up, the culmination of all of the team’s hard work was found in the annual Spring Show. On Saturday, April 15 in the Hart Auditorium, Hart Dance and eight local dance studios performed a variety of dances that made for an exciting display of local talent.

Starting off strong with a slick, Charlie’s Angels-themed number, the team set the tone for the first act. Following this performance was a wide array of dances from different studios, each bringing a unique and fun theme to the show. With categories ranging from contemporary and Jalisco to hip-hop and jazz, the show was riveting from start to finish.

Hart Dance’s beloved trio performed a total of eight times, showing off all of their hard work this year and demonstrating serious talent.

The Spring Show’s second act was just as captivating as the first, featuring two prop dances, a senior tribute to Hart Dance Captain Elizabeth Matchie and a stellar finale consisting of a co-ed dance with some of Hart’s male students.

The co-ed finale was a fun number set to “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor. The team danced with students Max Garcia, Eddie Rodriguez, Dustin Smith, Noah Ross, Deneb Wabra and Miguel Torres.

Hart Dance truly knows how to put on a show, and this year was no exception. Though it was the last Hart Dance performance of the school year and Captain Elizabeth Matchie’s final performance at Hart, anyone who has the opportunity to watch a Hart Dance production in the future should definitely tune in.

Speaking of the future of Hart Dance, students are highly encouraged to consider auditioning for next year’s team. An informational meeting with details will be held April 19 in the Hart library and official tryouts will be held May 18 and May 20 in the small gym.
