Red Cross had an International Services event for the Western Los Angeles Region Red Cross Districts Saturday January 19. The event ran from 10 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon. The day was full of educational activities for Red Cross volunteers to participate in. By interacting with others in the organization, Red Cross youth volunteers establish a sense of awareness while developing skills. Red Cross also held their monthly district wide general meeting for all Red Cross clubs in SCV Monday, January 22.

In addition, Red Cross had the Sound the Alarm Event February 14, also known as the Home Fire Campaign. Anybody was able to volunteer with a Red Cross Volunteer account. The event was hosted in Lancaster. Adults and youth helped install and educate homeowners of potential risks and effects of Home Fires. Red Cross volunteers, along with fire departments and other partners went to at-risk neighborhoods, installed free smoke alarms, replaced batteries in existing alarms and provided fire prevention and safety education.
