Hart Regiment Marches to the End of the Season

Band marched through their season, coming in second place and receiving an overall score of 91.45 out of 100 in the SCSBOA (Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association) championships. Hart’s color guard received a score of 93.50. Hart’s Percussion section received a total score of 87.75. The marching band had an excellent final performance, leaving the crowd in awe with their extraordinary performance with their field show entitled “CINEMA.a��

These groups of kids have worked so hard this season. They practice every day from 7:00am-9:00am. On weekends, band usually has practice on Saturday from 7:00am-5:30pm. All wind instruments rehearse after school from 3:30-5:30, not to mention the other days particular sections have to meet for two and a half hours. Their hard work shows with them getting the highest achievement awards and receiving fourteen SCSBOA championships. They are one of the only bands to achieve this honor.

The Hart Regiment has also been an Marching Band Open series medalist five times. In 2007, the Hart Regiment was a Bands Of America Grand National semi-finalist.

“This season has been a lot of hard work, but I couldn’t have asked for a more fun, successful and memorable season. Everyone gave this season their all. I could not be more proud of this band,” said percussion section leader Iris Kubler-Dudgeon.

After all of the bands perform, they attend an awards ceremony and receive their scores. The bands then went center stadium to to receive their medals and congratulate each other for all of their hard work and for being an example of what music education is all about.

The band now continues to work hard as they transition into concert ensembles where they will perform pieces of literature from many famous and outstanding music composers. That’s a wrap for the Hart Regiment’s amazing season.
