Unto Others is Christian service club dedicated towards selflessness and giving unto other people. Their inspiration is the verse Luke 6:31, “Do unto others as you would have them do to you.”

Recently the club held a food drive for Thanksgiving baskets.

Donations were collected for service hours in Mrs. Lee and Mrs. Hardbargers room. The Thanksgiving baskets were completed with canned goods, turkey, stuffing, and other foods.

“We had only planned to make five boxes, but we filled eleven boxes, each with about twice the amount of food on the list or more,” said club president Madeline Meadows.

Distribution was done by a social worker.

“A social worker from the school district does something similar to the Thanksgiving baskets and offered to deliver each box to the homes of the families chosen,” Meadows said.

Their program goes further into the holiday season than just Thanksgiving.

“For Christmas we will be sending handmade cards to teachers,” Meadows said.

For the upcoming year, the club is planning to host a Children’s Hunger Fund day.

Children’s Hunger Fund is a Christian non-profit organization that focuses on equipping local churches with the resources to help impoverished children and families.

Upcoming events for next semester are Pennies for Leukemia, March of Dimes, and letters to the armed forces.
